Series 888[]

I know that Derek uses the phrase "triple eight" a few times to refer to this terminator... but do we have any other confirmation that it's a T-888? It kinda looked like a T-800. What about when his head was being blown off... was there anything in his endo that confirmed his series number? --Kanamekun 14:34, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Whatever it was, it was big as Hell. It's a good thing Cameron didn't have to fight it. It probably would have kicked her ass. I'd like to see more terminators in the show, but I'm tired of seeing T-888s. How about something new? No, not a T-1001. That's not new. I'd love to see a T-900 in action. -- sec_1971 20:38, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
I think your wish will be granted on the Terminator vs. Terminator page, we'll see something interesting in two weeks with the Victoria vs Cameron fight in "The Tower Is Tall But the Fall Is Short". "TBT" is surely an 888, as specified in the series by multiple sources (but if you have to, use the reference guide against his "blown open head" before it melts to confirm), but what is she? Will it be the piece that links Cameron to the 888 small-option, or just her? Or something else entirely. Gonna be fun!Fulongamer 20:50, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, forgot about her. Can't wait! --sec_1971 21:00, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Presidio Alto[]

I've been wanting to write this article for some time, but I think it should organized in a way that details not only its apparent location, the Chain-of-Command, and the STUDENT C.O.C. Not to mention of brief description of what happened there with Bedell. I just think it needs to be written.sec_1971 22:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

The realism of the use of the Barret[]

I added the paragraph regarding the proper use of the Barret because I know all of these thing through personal experience. No soldier is EVER allowed to carry, setup, or otherwise operate a sniper rifle without his spotter. And, due to it's weight, not even Arnie could fire this at shoulder level, as most of the weight is towards the muzzle (it's not balanced at all). It serves one purpose only; to destroy anything it hits. And believe me, it does.sec_1971 22:55, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I hate arguing and I have nothing but respect for Sec1971 and all other editors on this wiki. However, those statements regarding the Barrett are untrue. While it is improbable to fire a .50 Cal rifle that way, it is far from impossible. I am no bodybuilder (6" 155lbs) but I can and have wielded the M82 at the shoulder. It is DAMN heavy but I carried it around a local gunshow for about 15 minutes(felt like hours) and after that held it at the shoulder while looking through a comically huge scope (10-25x 60mm objective lens!) and I did not even pass out. When fitted with a muzzle brake(all of them are) the recoil will not knock a grown man to the ground. If you have experience and are braced for the recoil you can even fire all 10 rounds in quasi-rapid fire and hit something resembling a man-size target. While it would not be my first choice, if I saw a terminator stuck in tar in front of me and I just happened to have an M82 I would shoot until my arm fell off. I think the paragraph is nothing more than speculation and should not be in the article page. It is more useful in the Talk page. -Grimace427 13:51, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Grimace427. While it is very impractical to fire the M82 from the shoulder and it was done simply for theatrical reasons, the comments in the article sound more like speculation and opinion. I'm not doubting anyone's level of expertise. I'm just pointing out that 'knocked flat' is not a scientific term. Additionally, you can go on youtube and find videos of plenty of people firing M82's standing and none of them are massive guys. Also, stating that the M82 has 'tremendous' recoil is not very scientific either. The M82 and all large caliber military rifles of similar design have recoil dampening, which makes felt recoil much lower. I've never fired an M82, but I'm willing to speculate from seeing it fired that it doesn't have much more recoil than my un-dampened Mosin-Nagant M44. Again, it's unlikely that anyone would fire such a weapon from the shoulder, but making statements like those above is not the right way to go. Merely stating that the weapon is very heavy (and listing the weight) and indicating the impracticality of firing one standing would be sufficient. The comments in the article sound more like mythology than facts when presented in such a manner. Doggonemess 15:59, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Rename Page[]

We had discussed on the main talk page about moving this page to T-888 (Goodbye to All That). Any thoughts or objections? --Kanamekun 02:45, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

I vote for move. --TX55TALK 14:55, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
The name was selected when the episode aired because that was what the character was billed as in the credits. - Nx1701g 21:52, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Oops, I didn't know it is a credited name like Water Delivery Guy, if so, I think the page will stay in its original name. --TX55TALK 01:57, May 23, 2010 (UTC)
