I don't think it was Deiter's likeness that was used for the CSM101. It was just his voice. Sgt. Candy's likeness was used (according to his article). Which is it?sec_1971 00:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Both. Aren't time travel and alternate timelines wonderful? In the timeline of the T2: Infiltrator trilogy, Skynet explicitly states that Dieter's image was the one pulled from archived files to formulate the Model 101 likeness. The SGT Candy reference, however technically falls lower on the canon tree, due to it's presence being only in a deleted scene (from a third movie timeline that has been orphaned anyway), while the novel was fully authorized for print. The novel trilogy does take pains by the third book to close the timeline loop and preserve the continuity of at least the first two films as it was released in the same year as T3, but not beholden to it in any way.Fulongamer 05:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

If "Dieter" was present and knew Kyle Reese, this would contradict the original Terminator film. I do recall the line in the film about it being hard for Kyle to "zero" who the Terminator was. If it were Dieter, it would be pretty easy for him to spot "Dieter." It also makes no sense that Skynet would use his likeness. There is a considerable amount of large people that would be a good fit for the endoskeleton (e.g. the NFL). I have a feeling that the "Dieter" character was a cheap attempt at a literary cameo from Arnold. It would be much more plausible if Skynet used the likeness it did based on Arnold because of his action movies (maybe Skynet really liked 'Last Action Hero'?).--Rastaraqi 12:57, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

It's explained in the novel that Skynet used the intelligence files of deceased CIA and FBI Agents for the first generation of Terminators. Dieter did not meet Kyle Reese in the novel. He was presented in the time displacement chamber after Kyle had been sent back. -Nx1701g 13:57, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
