The TQ-7 UAV, also known as TQ-7 or "Teek," was an unmanned aerial vehicle in Skynet's arsenal used during the earliest phases of the war.[1]

Specification[]

The TQ-7 was a drone with a fixed-wing body. It had a turreted infrared camera and an ancillary forward-facing infrared camera for precise targeting. Armed with a light machine gun and a laser designator, the TQ-7 was among the first Skynet machines to upgrade to laser weaponry during the mid-phase of the war. Despite its initial limitations, such as a gas-powered engine that limited its engagement time, the design was later upgraded to a more efficient hybrid electrical system.[1]

Mission Profile[]

The TQ-7 drone was originally designed as an anti-infantry attack unit, but later transitioned to surveillance or deforestation missions. Skynet found it perfectly suited for pursuing lightly-armored human refugees in the open. Resistance soldiers shared strategies for evading their laser weapons, emphasizing the importance of remaining still until the laser charge depleted before retaliating.[1]

History[]

After Judgment Day, Skynet acquired some of its initial assets from the CIA's drone program, and while the Predator drone was relatively well-known, the TQ-7 emerged as Skynet's preferred UAV. Serving as a de facto Hunter-Killer, it also served as a test of the capabilities of Skynet's robotic factories.[1]

During Skynet's offensive in Mexico, the TQ-7 proved instrumental in preventing the looting of its factories and supporting ground operations. It was also deployed alongside Darts to protect the perimeter of Britain's Quiet Zone, an area ravaged by biological and chemical weapons. Skynet phased out spare parts production as the war progressed, opting to decommission units as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Despite this, a surviving fleet of approximately a dozen TQ-7s were still in service performing low-priority missions in the continental USA well into the 2020s.[1]
