During the Future War in the Resistance timeline, Skynet developed the T-850 Infiltrator based on the T-800. As an improved model of the T-800, the T-850 is designed with a reinforced titanium outer shell, capable of taking more fire from first-generation plasma weapons than the standard model.
History[]
Near the end of the war in 2029, Skynet developed the T-850 Infiltrator. Skynet deployed one unit to guard the Skynet Core under the ruins of Griffith Observatory and one to raid the Resistance Shelter along with other Terminators. There were also several units deployed outside the defense grid during the California Offensive. Additionally, before its destruction, Skynet sent a T-850 back to the past via the Time Displacement Equipment to terminate Jacob Rivers. Terminator: Resistance
Notes[]
- The T-850 was the first infiltrator with a living tissue sheath in the Resistance timeline, or at least the first one the Resistance learned about.
- In Terminator: Resistance, the T-850 Terminator is deployed only as an Infiltrator, not an endoskeleton infantry on battlefield.
- Similar to its counterpart in the Rise of the Machines timeline, the T-850's combat chassis is reinforced to be resistant to plasma weapons acquired by the Resistance fighters; the first-generation to be exact. Only when acquiring second-generation plasma weapons can the player significantly damage the T-850.
Gameplay[]
The T-850 is more durable and intelligent than its predecessors of the Series 8xx Terminators. Due to its reinforced armor, a T-850 is resistant to first-generation plasma weaponry, even to a well-placed headshot. It would move to flank the player by attacking from vantage points and throwing grenades, forcing the player to be flushed from their cover. It is the only bipedal Terminator unit in the game to use grenades against the player.
When entering battle, the T-850 is in its living tissue Infiltrator sheath. When sufficient damage is inflicted, the tissue would burn and peel off, revealing the endoskeleton.
However, the T-850 is vulnerable to second-generation plasma weaponry. Explosive weapons are also effective against it, such as grenades. Rocket launchers would significantly damage it while temporarily stunning it, allowing for players to finish it off.
T-850s carry a VSB-95, the second-generation plasma minigun.
