Spoiler warning: This article contains plot details Terminator: Resistance.

Ryan is a former resident of Pasadena. He is the leader of a small group based of the Resistance.

History

Judgement Day

On August 29th, 1997, Ryan and his older brother Tucker were going to a concert for the band Captured By Robots. They did not have any tickets, but Tucker, being a ladies' man, was able to get them in with his charm. They then climbed a metal tower to get a better view of the concert, but then there was a very bright light. It took Ryan a couple of minutes to realize what he was seeing was an atomic mushroom cloud. As the shockwave roared towards them, Ryan saw the fans below get buried alive. The metal tower began to creak. Although Tucker said they would be fine, the tower gave way, and Ryan closed his eyes as the tower fell. He and Tucker somehow survived the fall, Tucker told Ryan that it was okay to be scared.

Post-Judgment Day

Like many survivors, Ryan and Tucker started a camp, which Tucker led. Tucker was a very ruthless leader, killing anyone who opposed him. Despite this, he was still on good terms with Tucker, who taught him how to play the guitar. They even considered starting a band, which they initially decided to name "Survivors", before they realized that name was already taken.

Years later, multiple survivors started talking about rumors of "robot warriors". Ryan, like man other survivors, thought this was just a silly rumor, being at the time, rumors were common among survivors (Ryan's favorite one was about radioactive squirrel zombies.)

Eventually, Ryan saw his first Terminator. As he was tuning his guitar, when he heard a strange noise. He then discovered a T-400 had converged on their hideout. He just stood there, in shock, as the machine took out Tucker with one bullet. Ironically, it was Ryan who destroyed the machine afterwards.

A few years later, Ryan found a large metal door in the ground, when he was in the desert. As he opened it, he found "an aftermath of a massacre"— There were the corpses of people all inside, but there was plenty of food and water with them. Ryan realized that the people must have starved themselves to death. He remembered what Tucker told him, and told the rest of the camp on what he had found, and they resupplied themselves with the food and water. Later on, Ryan moved to Pasadena, where he met Erin, Colin, Mark, Patrick, and Jennifer, and joined their group.
