Plot summary[]

Driving in a police car through the Turnpike highway, Reika asks Eiko where she's taking her, which she answers to her father. Two police cars try to stop Eiko's car, but fail after she causes them to crash.

Meanwhile, at the break room of the police station, four officers, including detectives Fujino and Shiraki, watch a newscast about the four murdered officers. Another officer notifies them that a female witness who saw the incident was there, but as they head to the person, they learn that there are units in pursuit of the car believed to be one of the shooters. The woman in question was Misaki and the Lee children, who introduced herself to the men, and they, in turn, did the same. Misaki struggles to explain the situation when asked what she witnessed that night. So, Fujino offers to take her into one of the interview rooms where they can discuss the matter further and assures her that there's no safer place.

As that progressed, the Terminator was now wearing the police officer's clothing and riding his motorcycle.

Back at Misaki's side, Fujino debriefs what he learned from Misaki about what happened on the bridge and her encounter with Eiko. As Fujino asks for further information concerning any other encounters with Eiko, she asks if he has been able to contact Malcolm yet, but he denies it. Hence, Misaki continues to explain her encounter with Eiko and then the Terminator to Fujino. She becomes a bit unnerved when she details Eiko fighting against, the Terminator, which Fujino thought Misaki was talking about an 1NNO, but Misaki denies it. Misaki believed that the Terminator may have killed Eiko and that Reika would be in danger. She then warns that Fujino needs to send more police after them; despite Fujino assuring her that some are being sent, Misaki claims it's inadequate.

On Eiko's side, they're accosted by several police cars, which causes them to crash into an office building, where Eiko and Reika hide from the police.

Back at the station, Shiraki approaches Hiro and Kenta and asks if they're ok. Hiro asks if their father is alright, but Shiraki can't say. Kenta chimes in and states that their father is likely at work, as always. Shiraki then asks about their relationship with Misaki, and Hiro explains that she's their housekeeper. When Shiraki presses them for more background information concerning Misaki. Hiro and Kenta cannot provide anything. This draws Shiraki's attention, and he asks the two if they've noticed anything strange about her.

Shiraki will join Fujino in the interview room and provide background information on Misaki. Fujino's demeanor toward her changes, and he explains that there are no records whatsoever about Misaki's identity. He then asks Misaki straight who she is.

At that moment, the Terminator arrives at the station, kills an officer before breaking open a gun cabinet, steals the ammo and weapons locked inside, and kills several more officers. The noise of the Terminator's murder spree can be heard from the interview room, and Misaki warns that it was "him". Shiraki immediately goes to check it out and is shocked to find several bodies of officers laid on the hallway walls and floor. He then finds Kenta and Hiro hiding behind a bulletin board. Shiraki checks one of the rooms, and the kids follow him. The Terminator appears from another room. He fires his guns at Shiraki, whose right cheek is scratched by a bullet, and soon gets a bolt from the Terminator's crossbow fired into his right shoulder.

After several officers try and stop the Terminator, but are easily killed by him, Shiraki then shoots him again, but to no real effect. As the Terminator approaches Shiraki, Fujino grabs him by the waist when he ran out of bullets, which allows Hiro and Kenta to escape, but he gets killed in the end. Despite evading the Terminator, he grabs onto Hiro, and right after that, Misaki uses a fire extinguisher to rescue him. This leads to Shiraki trying to rescue Misaki, and in the process, Misaki's right arm is ripped off, revealing her to be a Machine too. Believing Misaki is a high threat level, the Terminator tries to kill her, but Shiraki stops him from it. This act of bravery allows her to escape with Kenta and Hiro while seemingly getting himself killed in the process.

Outside, Misaki hotwires a police car. Kent and Hiro demand to know why wires are coming out of Misaki's missing arm, but she snaps and claims she doesn't know. She then drives the car away as the Terminator exits the police station.

At Cortex Industries, the police surround the inside of the building and try to contact Malcolm, but they are denied access. As Natsuko put it, the officers aren't allowed in there without a warrant, but when she answers the phone herself, she's shocked by the call. Natsuko then contacts Malcolm and informs him that Reika called her and was in a panic; however, Malcolm refused to speak to her. Kokoro then questions if Malcolm's refusal to save his daughter is what he wanted to prove humanity's potential for good, but Malcolm claims that it's part of the plan, which Kokoro asks for him to elaborate further on. However, Malcolm asks for more time, Kokoro asks if it's about the Americans activating Skynet, and Malcolm claims it'll be within the next hour. Kokoro notes that Malcolm has failed to give a compelling reason to save him. Still, Malcolm asks for more time to prove his reason to Kokoro.

Meanwhile, Reika fails to reach her father over the phone and then tells Eiko how she knows about the Terminator. As Reika explains it, the police arrive, and after Eiko fails to stop them, they arrest her and put her on a stretcher into an ambulance. Simultaneously, Misaki drives the car as Kenta cannot look at her, and Skynet launches online, firing off nuclear missiles, which Kokoro shows to the horrified Malcolm. Asking for an estimated time of when the missiles hit, Kokoro suspects a few minutes, but must be brought online to get an accurate answer. Malcolm questions Kokoro about the consequence of doing that, and Kokoro answers that she could communicate with Skynet and receive the same data it has collected. Further questioning how Kokoro would act with such information, Kokoro cannot say without knowing, which Malcolm notes is a question of fate. Concluding that fate is a fallacy, Malcolm puts Kokoro online.
