Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol (born August 9, 1968) is a producer and director from Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was nicknamed McG from birth to differentiate him from his uncle and grandfather of the same name. He holds a psychology degree from UC Irvine.

Beginning his career as a photographer in the music business this was his entry into the business. He helped produce the debut album by Sugar Ray, Lemonade and Brownies. Eventually, this production led him to direct music videos, namely for Fastball, Korn and The Offspring.

His films (as director) include Charlie's Angels, and its sequel Full Throttle as well as We Are Marshall. His television series credits include Fastlane, The O.C., Supernatural, Chuck and Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll.

He directed the fourth installment of the Terminator film franchise: Terminator Salvation.

In 2008, McG was the executive producer for The WB Television Network's new online portal. One of the series, Sorority Forever, is produced in conjunction with Big Fantastic, the creators of the online series Prom Queen.
