Los Angeles, California is a key location in the Terminator series.
The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are both set in Los Angeles. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines also starts off in Los Angeles, but is the first movie to move out the characters out of LA: the main characters end the movie at Crystal Peak, a fictional mountain in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
