The Hunter-Killer Aerial Weapons Platform,[1], also known as Hunter-Killer Aerial Weapons System,[2],F/K Fighter - Heavy,[3] or "Big FK",[4] is a large HK-Aerial designed by Cyber Research Systems with the patent obtained from Cyberdyne Systems.[5] Before it is formally manufactured, Cyber Research Systems developed a miniature version of the Aerial Weapons Platform, which served as a prototype.
In an alternate timeline created by the destruction of a Cyberdyne building, Skynet had already mass-produced the Aerial Weapons Platform and deployed the machine into the Future War. It is equipped with plasma cannons to bombard human bases below them.
Notes[]
- Jonathan Mostow stated in a documentary that the HK-Aerials in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines were redesigned to be more "shark-like and organic".
- Compared to the HK-Aerial as shown in the original timeline, the Hunter-Killer Aerial Weapons Platform possesses a much larger scale with wingspans of up to 108 feet[citation needed].
- In Terminator 3: War of the Machines, an big FK can be taken down by 7 to 10 rockets.
- In Terminator Salvation: Movie Preview, a Hunter-Killer Aerial Weapons Platform from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is depicted as the HK-Aerial and Transport, rather than the two aerial HK as shown in Terminator Salvation film.
