The G-22 Mobile Defense Robot, or simply G-22, was a defensive turret used by Skynet during the early years of the war.
Specification[]
The G-22 Mobile Defense Robot was a defensive turret designed to be transported by a heavy truck until it can self-unload. It used a quadrupedal drive train that allowed it to position itself as a semi-static defense system. Standing a full meter in height, the G-22 was armed with four heavy machine guns, although the anti-tank variants replaced one of the machine guns with an anti-tank guided missile. The main weapon system was robotically controlled, but it included a reinforced firing position for an operator to either initiate or abort the unit’s attack protocols with the press of a button.[1]
Mission Profile[]
Largely deployed in the European theater, the G-22 was a portable and re-orientable defense system ideal for securing border posts and denying vehicle access to roadways. Many units were still equipped with an operator cavity, which could provide shelter from gas attacks provided the cavity was not damaged when trying to enter.[1]
History[]
The G-22 was the predecessor of the DK-Turret. Built according to the specifications of West German military planners, the very first thing Skynet did with this model was remove the abort button. It then integrated an improved artificial intelligence into the turret, and most importantly, it welded the operator section shut.[1]
