D800.L[1], or "DL"[2], was a T-800 Model 108 Version 1.8[2] deployed by Skynet with D810.X to the Death Valley region in 1998. Although deployed simultaneously from 2029, there was a temporal shift that caused D810.L to arrive slightly later than D800.X.[1]
Story[]
D800.L and its companion were dispatched after Skynet’s fall in 2029 as part of its contingency protocols executed by its subordinant AIs.[2] D800.L may have suffered a flaw in its programming due to the temporal shift, and it increasingly became fascinated with the meaning of life and the living.[1]
This unit was responsible for the termination of numerous Death Valley park rangers, police, members of Killerman's biker gang, and several civilians at a desert diner. Misled by Killerman, who had claimed knowledge of the location of Sarah and John Connor, these two units pursued him to the Norden family. Unfortunately for the Nordens, Killerman believed them to be the Connors.[1]
Increasingly rebellious, ignoring directives from D810.X and refusing to terminate non-threatening humans, this unit even spared VanDirk then lied about it to D810.X. D800.L and its companion unit were finally terminated by VanDirk, with three sticks of dynamite salvaged from the Skull Mine.[1] VanDirk burned and then buried the remains. Unwilling to allow them to fall into the wrong hands, Sarah Connor returned to the Valley later and disposed of them permanently.
