California is a state in the western part of The United States and the home to the city of Los Angeles. It is the setting of the majority of the events in the Terminator franchise.

- Besides Los Angeles, it is also the home of the cities of San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose.
- At over 39 million residents, California is also the most populous state in The United States.
- Arnold Schwarzenegger was the governor of California from 2003 to 2011, which was the primary reason he could not return to Terminator Salvation and therefore made his only absence in a Terminator film by far.
