In Dark Years timeline, upon the arrival of the midnight of New Year's Day, 2000, John Connor hid himself from the Terminator, who was trying to kill him, in the observatory of the Empire State Building in New York. However, he was reacquired by the machine. "In Pursuit" John managed to fight the Terminator and had it fall to the ground from the observatory of the skyscraper. Thinking that the machine was destroyed, John went to the hospital to reunite with his mother, Sarah Connor. Nevertheless, the Terminator survived and reacquired the Connors again in the hospital. It was finally destroyed by Sarah Connor. "Captured!"
