I'm just now interested in this question. And why did the T-1000 character and the Terminator himself (T-800) in the films Terminator and Terminator 2 appear immediately in human form?
Has anyone picked up the Terminator RPG from Nightfall Games? It is an officially licensed product and has been fully approved and gives a great overview of the original timeline and how the war continued beyond 2029. Is anyone intending to add details from this product to the wiki, it might throw up some issues with naming conventions? The bundle can be picked up here - https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/398535/The-Terminator-RPG-Starter-Bundle-BUNDLE?
And the facebook group is here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/TerminatorRPG
Christian Bale was originally offered the role of Marcus Wright in Terminator: Salvation and the uncanny part would have been perfect for the star.
Something I was pondering and decided to ask you guys - just for a bit of good old brainstorming. My main idea for this was from reading about the scrapped Heisei film, Godzilla 2.
(Be aware - there's going to be a fair amount of text).
For those of you confused about how this would work as the Heisei series had the Futurians from the 23rd century showing up, lets just treat this as a multiverse and say SkyNet was never created/brought online in their timeline.
Also, when you take into account the Terminator films, TV show, comics, games and crossovers with other characters/franchises like Superman, Robocop and the Alien vs. Predator series among others, how many timelines does the Terminator franchise have at this point?
(It's probably best not to worry too much about the "time travel" element for this hypothetical scenario - it'll likely just give you a headache).
- So, we'll say that the 1954 Godzilla film and the rest of the Heisei series play out like normal - with Godzilla I killed by the Oxygen Destroyer and Godzilla II dying after melting down in 1995 following his battle with Destoroyah - leaving his adopted son Godzilla Junior (now mutated to full size) to take up the mantle as the new King of the Monsters.
- On August 4th, 1997, SkyNet comes online; becoming self-aware and initiating the event known as "Judgement Day", with around 3 billion people dying in the resulting "nuclear firestorm".
Godzilla Junior - now an adult with all the powers/abilities of his "father" - survives the massacre of mankind (even gaining strength from some of the nuclear detonations), while Mothra is currently off-world dealing with a meteor that is due to hit Earth in 1999; the same meteor Battra was originally supposed to deal with.
- However, both Godzilla and Mothra are now also on SkyNet's list of individuals that need to be 'Terminated'.
Worse still, this version of SkyNet will be able to gain access to the weapons/technology used by G-Force - including the scavenged Futurian technology from the 23rd century - to improve its armies of "Hunter-Killers".
So, do you think Godzilla and Mothra would be able to bring a premature end to humanity's "War against the Machines"?
Or, will Skynet's access to better technology and its constant improvements to both its humanoid and non-humanoid Hunter-Killers allow it to take down the King of the Monsters and the Guardian of the Ancient World?
Also, regardless of how this turns out, do you think humanity will survive or - to quote AVP - "No matter who wins, we lose"?
Curious to see what you guys think.
What did the Human prisoners do at Skynet Work Camps? I know that Kyle Reese and many others were kept alive to load bodies into disposal units (Either mass incinerators or meat grinders). People were usually experimented on at Research Facilities (Or used as... Rewards for obedient Grays in the case of Jessica Baron). But there had to have been other practical tasks that Skynet needed done. Why even use human slave labor? It has automated factories that churn out Hunter Killers. Surely it would have some kind of worker drone.
Plot: With Skynet erased from existence, John and his mother believed the future is secured now that Judgement Day is never gonna happen ever. However, they were proven wrong when a Terminator called the REV-9 appears, it's mission: Kill Dani Ramos and John Conner. They would soon meet Grace, a super soldier sent by Dani and John himself. As the film goes on after Sarah was killed off by the Rev-9, not only John learns from Grace that the Rev-9 is not just a completely different terminator that his family has fought, it was created by Legion, a far mor advanced AI designed for cyberwarfare that is also willing to achieve what Skynet, it's predecessor could not: the assassination of John Conner himself. He also learned that Dani is his adopted daughter and that he trained her to fight terminators during the Legion war.
This doesn't look much like the T-600... I mean it does. But it seems different... (From the Terminator Salvation Video Game intro 2009).
If John never turned evil and kept his soul, helped Kyle, his mother and Pops take down Skynet, do you think he can hold his ground against the most advanced terminator made before the Rev-9?

From Kyle Reese's line "We were that close to goin out forever." in reference to Skynet's extermination campaign. How many people died from the War? Judgement Day killed 3 Billion of course. But how many more died? How many were left of the original pre JD population? How many were born in the interim? This is assuming that there were 5.84 Billion people alive on August 29th 1997 before 2:14 EST...

I would keep the movie the same but make key changes.
1. I would of kept John Connor alive but kill off Sarah Connor while she protecting john from the t 800.
2. Have John hunt down terminator from the text from carl.
3. Scene where John is in a hotel about to kill himself but stops because of a text from carol. The reason why is he is suffering from depression from losing Sarah and judgement day not happening. This is the text from when grace and rev 9 time travel to present.
4. At the end of movie I have judgement day happen you see it it happen. You see day 1 through 3 happen but fast.
The reason for these changes is the fact I firmly believe T1 and T2 is really Sarah story. I would use this as John taking up the mantle of training the new leader of the resistance. Like passing the torch. I would also think legion is aware of skynet and how it failed and it got destroyed before judgment day. To me this is the reason why legion sent a rev 9 to 2020. To not give the resistance time to stop judgment day.
Sequel
This would be my idea there opening scene you see Dani explaining how the war going and she has a flashback of how the resistance started. During this flashback John would be alive. You see John is leading the resistance and still training Dani for the role she needs to play. You would see small battle and a major battle where John does die. I would say this flashback would be 4 years after judgment day. Then you would jump to 2042 back to Dani and see the mission where Dani gets injured. This would be the mission where they find out the TDE is being created and where it is. You would see the battle at the base you would see the battle won after the ambushed. You would see grace becoming an augment and Dani recovering.
Last sequel
This would be the final battle where you see the destruction of legion and see the rev 9 and Grace going back in time.
